Reminiscent of L’Orangerie at Hotel George V in Paris, Majorelle restaurant at the Lowell Hotel in New York is a light-filled botanical oasis where indoor seating feels like al fresco dining beneath a luminous glass rooftop.
Surrounded by Calamondin Trees potted in bright blue planters (majorelle is French for bright cobalt blue), the table was set with roses, peonies, dahlias, hydrangea and ranunculus with custom linen napkins created by E. Braun featuring our Large Red Rose brooch.
I spoke with my guests about the perseverance of flowers and how they bloom in spite of the harshest conditions. We reflected on how the tenacious life cycle of a flower is analogous to our own hard-won achievements and progress.
Although each of us came to the table with varying backgrounds and perspectives, we all shared an appreciation for the confidence and insight that comes with experiencing growth and knowing one's true self; living through ups and downs and coming out stronger for it on the other side. In the spirit of capturing the resilience of a flower, my floral brooches are made to remind us that our personal resolve and subsequent growth is constant and beautiful.
It was an honor to share my collection of botanical gems with these inimitable ladies, each of whom has her own special story and unique wisdom to share. I raise my glass to them, and to the future generation of women for whom we lovingly plant the seeds today.
